Monday: Tea time

Time for tea!

Serving Suggestions: Loose leaf Rooibos

Hi Friends,

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. What did you do to make the weekend out of the ordinary?

We are having a superb time here in Cape Town, proudly known as the Mother City.

Yesterday we explored the stunning town of Franschhoek.

If you consider yourself a ‘foodie’, which we definitely are then you have to visit this town!
Tucked away in the middle of a valley of Vineyards is a profusion of Artisan Chocolate Shops, art galleries, historical monuments, street cafes and restaurants outside which your mouth will instantly water.

My advice is to first drive straight through the town and follow the winding road all the way to the top of the mountain where you will find a viewpoint and this is what you’ll see…

Once you drive back down the mountain road in middle of the high street on your left hand side you will find Col'Cacchio (photos by me)

It is here you will find the best pizza I have ever had in South Africa, actually it is the best pizza I have ever had in my whole life, but I have never seen much of Italy so who knows… You will find all people here, romancing couples, clans of friends, businessmen and families. Well who wouldn’t be drawn to eating delicious food under the dappled warm light that pours through the trees there?

These are a few things on our itinerary for the week:
-       - Go up Table Mountain
-       - Shop for bargains at Access Park
-       - Go for a chocolate tasting at De Villiers Artisan Chocolate--- This place sells hand made chocolate with beans from all over the world including Trinidad (Mr. Noth’s homeland)
-       - Eat sushi at the Waterfront
-       - Drive to Camps Bay for a picnic
-       - Walk down and peruse Upper Long Street
-       - Visit the old car museum at L’Ormarnis... To name but a few!

I promise to share any great and glorious finds I make.

Thanks for stopping by, K x
