Monday: Tea Time

Hi friends,

Time for tea! My serving suggestion for today is Twinnings Peppermint with a tiny dash of honey. This is a perfect for a short pause in a busy afternoon and it doesn’t need anything with it.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Did you do anything interesting?

My weekend was wonderful. We arrived back in JBay on after our brilliant adventure to Potch. We made lots of new friends and enjoyed HUGE laughs with out team, especially over the highs and lows of our Victory Gap Year experiences such as orientation, missions, room mates and cooking team. But it is always good to come home. It still astonishes me that here really is home. I never thought anywhere would be home other than my family home in England, but strangely enough right where we are is home. What a wonderful feeling that is…

Mr Not is sick in bed with a terrible flu and a small dose of man flu as well!
So my weekend was unapologetically lazy and resembled that of my single life, with the benefit of knowing my man was just in the other room.
Saturday morning consisted of a little sleep in, a wonderful hour reading my bible, then indulging in some mid morning shopping to buy FRESH baked nutty rye bread and ripe avocados.
Then it was over to the lovely Anne’s house for lunch and a heart to heart. We laughed at how we can go from discussing the deep things of the heart, to food, to celebrity news, to political issues and then what we feel God is saying to us in the season we are in.
Then it was time for laundry, a quick hair treatment and then a movie night with the patient.
I love Saturdays like that!!!!

Sunday was also a special morning for the Victory Family. We had guest worship leaders from East London come and lead us in vibrant praise and worship. It was so refreshing to dance and sing to the true African rhythm they brought with them. God worked in many people’s hearts as cultural divides were healed through the unity of all those people coming together in unity of song and heart and lifting up praise to our King. It is such a ridiculous and hurtful thing that skin colour and culture can become such a divisive thing among people, but it is equally wonderful how in the family of God we can take the best of every culture, leaving the rotten behind and all come together in the culture of the Kingdom.

Well friends, it has been good to chat…

Thanks for stopping by, K x
